The DFO, reporting directly to the Board of Directors, plays an important strategic leadership role, developing and implementing efficient and effective financial and operational strategies, practices and systems that support the Organization's mission, vision and goals.

The Director of Finance and Operations supervises budgeting, finance & accounting department; human resources; purchasing; real estate and facility management; ICT; Legal and Statutory matters.

Major Areas of Responsibility

• Work on planning and development of short and long-term financial and operational strategies and budgets;
• Directly manage and supervise the existing real estate and their development, in full compliance with Italian Laws;
• Serve as a member of the senior management team;
• Develop, implement and oversee plans and programs related to accounting, finance, audit, compliance, risk management, real estate and facility management; transport services; food services; ICT; legal and statutory matters;
• Ensure that the Organization follows all appropriate accounting standards, and complies with all Italian legal & fiscal requirements;
• Prepare, present and interpret financial data and reports for the Board;
• Manage treasury, operating cash flow and investments;
• Benchmarking and market analysis;
• Develop and manage procurement processes and policies;
• Develop and oversee the ICT infrastructure and manage the related policies, GDPR and network security;
• Employee relations, including guidelines on hiring, benefits, compensation and compliance with Italian labour law & fiscal requirements;
• Manage and coordinate human resources and administrative functions including personnel administration and payroll;
• Engage and work with outside consultants, including legal, financial auditors, facilities management, and others as appropriate;
• Special projects or tasks as appropriate, including leading task forces/working groups.
