Job Description

Context

Founded in 2005, the Chiesi Foundation (CF) is a no profit organisation expression of the Chiesi Farmaceutici’s social responsibility. CF acts to improve the health of newborn and alleviate the suffering of babies and their families affected by neonatal diseases in the Sub-Saharan African countries by delivering a package of newborn innovative and sustainable technologies for health facilities, by providing technical support and capacity building for health care workers and by improving the care of mothers and newborn babies.

Purpose

Under the supervision of the Chiesi Foundation Coordinator, the Junior Program Development Officer will be responsible for the identification of new strategic key partners; for the coordination and development of project proposals and project supervision and for building and maintaining strong relations with internal and external stakeholders. As well as this, the position helps the Coordinator to define and implement the Chiesi Foundation operational plan and support the positioning of the organisation in the countries where CF is present.

Main Responsibilities

The Junior Program Development Officer will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Coordinator in building and strengthening collaboration with existing and new partners (Corporate and Private Foundations, NGOs, Networks, Academies, Donors etc…) to enhance resource mobilization efforts and improve Foundations’ visibility.
  • Supporting the Coordinator in exploring potential new areas/countries of intervention and defining Chiesi Foundation positioning strategy.
  • Evaluating project proposals from implementing partners; supporting and coordinating the proposal development process between the Foundation and the implementing partners; when needed, supporting the development of concept notes and proposals, including designing logical frameworks and budgets;
  • Overseeing the activities of the NEST Project (planning, supervision and coordination) with specific focus on Burkina Faso, Benin and any other new country of intervention (Field supervision trip may be required).
  • Gathering and analysing social, economic and health information and develop country situation analyses for internal and external use.
  • Liaising directly with implementing partners to put together relevant country and project information as well as best practices for internal and external communications (social media, Chiesi
  • Foundation web site, annual report ect…)
    Supporting the organization and coordination of internal and external NEST sensitization activities and networking events.

Experience Required

At least 2-year experience in a similar role within a Foundation and/or International Development Organization

Education

Master’s Degree in International Development, International Studies or other Social Sciences

Languages

Fluent in French, English and Italian

Technical Skills
